Using copiecat means you accept these terms. Pay particular attention to the sections on material rights, billing, and the uncertainty inherent in generated output.

1. The service

copiecat takes a reference video and your own materials, analyses the reference structure, and produces a new video to your brief. The service is in closed beta; features, pricing and availability may change.

2. Accounts

An account is required. Accounts are hosted by Clerk. You are responsible for activity under your account and must tell us promptly about any unauthorised use. Projects belong to the account that created them and are not accessible to other accounts. Do not share credentials.

You must be at least 14. If you act for a company, you must be authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

3. Your materials and rights

Material you upload stays yours. We take no ownership of it.

You grant us a limited licence to store and process your material, and to transmit it to the providers needed to complete generation, solely to deliver the service. The licence ends when you delete the material or close your account.

You represent that you hold the necessary rights to every file you upload. In particular, do not upload:

• video, images or music you do not own or have no licence for;
• a real person's likeness, face or voice without their consent;
• someone else's trademarks or brand marks without authorisation.

Rights clearance is your responsibility. Third-party claims arising from your uploads are yours to answer.

4. Generated output

Once you have paid for it, the generated video is yours, including for commercial use.

Generation depends on third-party AI models and its results are inherently uncertain: the same input may produce different output, framing may not match your intent, and artefacts occur. The free short preview exists precisely so you can judge the result before paying for a full render. Payment buys the execution of a generation, not a guarantee of a particular artistic outcome.

We do not warrant that output is original, or that it will not resemble output produced for someone else.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use copiecat to produce:

• misleading content impersonating real people, or material for fraud or defamation;
• sexualised content involving minors, or anything otherwise unlawful;
• content intended to harass or threaten a specific individual;
• anything that breaks applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations and will cooperate with lawful investigations.

6. Billing and refunds

Full videos are priced from the estimated production cost, charged in USD through Stripe. The quote for each project is shown before you confirm payment. Each account gets one free short preview.

Because every generation consumes real third-party compute, a successfully completed generation is not normally refundable. If a generation fails because of a fault on our side and produces no usable result, contact us and we will re-run it or refund it.

Content is locked once payment is confirmed; cancel a pending payment to continue editing.

7. Availability

During beta the service is provided "as is" and may have downtime, processing delays or changing features. Releases can involve brief downtime. We take reasonable care of your data, but please keep your own copies of results that matter.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, copiecat is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost goodwill or lost data. Our total liability in any circumstance will not exceed the amount you actually paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may terminate the service if you breach these terms. After termination your projects and materials are handled per the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes

We update the date at the top when these terms change, and notify you in-product or by email for significant changes. Continued use means acceptance.
